Switched On Group is the industry best for service and delivery in the building and maintenance sector.
Date: 1 August 2017
Renovate It is part of the Switched On Group. We've created Renovate It to better serve the needs of our residential customers by making home renovations even easier. Before Renovate It, we helped customers realise their home renovation dreams through our company Switched On, under which time we won multiple awards.
Switched On’s award-winning Master Tradesmen have done it again – this time taking out a Silver in the Builder’s Own Home category at the House of the Year competition.
Managing Director Chris Hughes says that receiving this award from the Registered Master Builders Association is a proud moment for the company.
“We specialise in renovations, alterations and commercial fit-outs and do not usually build from scratch. This award is further evidence that our Master Builders deliver exceptionally high-quality work across the board - whether the job is big or small,” Hughes says.
The Switched On team were challenged to build a three-bedroom family home on a small, TC3 section in 2016. Designed by architect Peter Dunbar, with interior design by Anita Thomas, the 163sqm home includes a range of luxury elements, which the Switched On team executed to an extremely high standard.
Hughes says that added pressure was on the team because they were building a home for him and his family.
“Our tradesmen certainly wanted to get everything just right because they knew that this home was for my family and that clients would be entertained here. It had to be their very best work and I am so pleased with what they’ve pulled off.”
The result is something very special and this is evident from the moment you walk in the front gate. A path of large, concrete tiles leads you around a raised garden bed, then off-set concrete steps welcome you to the front door.
Inside, the white-granite kitchen bench top looks out over the open-plan dining and living areas, all the way through to the large kwila deck with louvre roof. This also connects to the master bedroom with en-suite.
Hughes says that the high-end look and feel of the home is the result of using quality suppliers and partners.
“We couldn’t have achieved this result on our own and our Master Builders, Painters and Electricians were fortunate to be supported by excellent plumbing, manufacturing, carpet, landscape and lighting companies – just to name a few.”
The award is the second that Switched On has received this year for a new building project. The first was for the commercial new build of their head office ‘Hughes House’.
The company also received five Master Painters awards for their work across two projects this year, including best small commercial interior and best large commercial exterior.
